Finding a Home at DBLCH

Born in 2005, twins Rose and Immanuel lost their parents when they were less than a year old. They went to live with their grandmother, but she had ten other grandchildren also in her care. After two years with her, social welfare brought them to Daily Bread Life Children's Home and they are both now students at Bread of Life Secondary School.

Rose likes singing and reading (especially the Bible). Her favorite subjects in school are English and science, and she wants to be a doctor when she grows up.

Rose says, "I am very happy now that I am in secondary school; here is a good place with good teachers, good shelter. I remember when my mom, Neema, brought me here to start grade one at Star International School. It was a long journey. I never thought I would be here. I thank God for my parents, Neema and Mpeli."

Immanuel prefers to be called Ima. He likes to play drums, and to play soccer after school. Like his sister, his favorite subjects are English and science, and he too wants to be a doctor someday.

Ima says, "I believe it was God's plan for everything that happened to me because I have parents who take care of me. Life here is very nice; I get the best care and love, a place to sleep, and an education. I came to know God through DBLCH."

Rose and Ima are just two of the children that Daily Bread Life Children's Home has given a home to since it opened its doors in 2006. This year alone, nearly twenty orphans and vulnerable children in Iringa, Tanzania have been brought in. Each child is given the love and support to fulfill God's plan for their lives, but, as everything, it comes at a cost. Every child who comes to DBLCH is given a medical exam, a new, clean set of clothes and shoes, and a pillow, blanket, and sheets for their new bed. For each child, the basic cost of moving into DBLCH is $200.

For #GivingTuesday this year, our goal is to raise the funds to cover bringing in at least ten new children in 2020. Please join us in our prayer that hearts and minds will be open to helping these children.
