The LCI (Life Change International) Farm Project began 2024 with 16 acres and will be ending the year with 40 farmable acres.

In January of this year, Floyd and Bonnie, Bill and Debbie Kenny, and Keith and Pam Day visited four potential farm properties in the Naro Moru area. By the end of the day, we were committed to three of the them.

The ultimate dream of this project is to produce enough income to sustain the ministry of LEFTI (Life Empowerment for Transformation International) which supports orphans, vulnerable children and families, food relief, community development, women's empowerment, and more.

Lamuria Farm

The original dream of the farm program began in 2014 with the purchase of the land in Lamuria. It took years of planning, land preparation, and water supply installation, but the first major crops were harvested in 2022.

The Lamuria Farm continues to produce, and has shown our Kenyan partners that this dream can become a reality!

Jericho Farm

The farm in Jericho is the first one we visited during the property tour in January.

The land reaches the river, and we would like to join it with a 3.7-acre parcel on the opposite bank.

Currently James is sharing ownership of the property for the purposes of a borehole water source. The water table here is quite close to the surface.

Weiruni Farm

The land in Weiruni is a total of 12 acres across 2 plots.

The first portion of land is 3 acres, with half an acre dedicated to the homestead that houses the young man who works the island. The larger portion of Weiruni Farm has a large dam fed by the upper borehole. Four acres of the 9 are currently planted.

Jikaze Farm

The Jikaze Farm consists of 5.5 acres, although there are only 4 acres currently available at this time.

Currently, 1 acre of cabbage has been planted and is doing well, and 1 acre of potatoes are starting to sprout. In the coming weeks, a further 2 acres will be planted with more cabbage and potatoes.

The remaining 1.5 acres will be released by the previous lessor once his final harvest is complete. His maize is almost mature.

Kiambogo Farm

Kiambogo Farm is a farm location near First Love Baptist.

As the rain begins this week, we will plant potatoes on the single acre of farmland.
