Bonnie Parker, Garry and Kitty Freeman, Emma Valentino, and a team from Sunbelt Marketing including Tim Ramsey, Landon Gibbs, Aidan Hall, Tyler Sims, Sarah Wood, Amber Williams, and Ryan Valentino are in Kenya for the next week.
The goal of this trip is women's health, water, and housing, as well as to celebrate the opening of the new church building in Shalom.
Bonnie sent this message and some pictures from Saturday, January 14:
Last night the Sunbelt team out of Atlanta joined me at the Shuhan hotel in Thika. It was a long trip through lots of turbulence but our planes both arrived just a little late. All luggage is present and accounted for! What a blessing!
This morning we started our journey to Nyeri county. Thanks to road construction, it took us around 3 hours to arrive at the Golden Gate Hotel, our home for the next five days.
The team took a road trip after lunch to see the worksites.
The team looks at cabbages on the "lower property" which will eventually allow this work to become self-sustaining.
During their time in Kenya, the Sunbelt team will construct a house for the family of Mamma John.
Kitty Freeman with Mamma John. The Sunbelt Marketing team will be constructing her home this week.
They will also lay pipes to several homes in order to connect them to running water.
The whole team came together for dinner Saturday night.
Tomorrow we go for worship and dedication of the new sanctuary at Shalom Church!
