Running Water Brings Joy to Four Women

Grace Mbugua gives us updates regarding some of the beneficiaries of the recent water hookups in Solio.

Jecinta

Jecinta is in her mid-70s and a mother of 4, including Stephen who has been ailing for 2 months. She has been doing manual jobs to support him. She is so grateful for their new water hookup and told us she is planning to start a kitchen garden so that she can have fresh vegetables for her son.

I visited her again recently and I am so impressed with how committed she is to planting trees now that she has water at her home. So far, she has planted 20 trees and uses small jelicans to water them every evening. She has already registered for a carbon credit initiative that pays farmers for every tree on their farms.

She is part of 6 families who will be benefiting from the water tanks in the near future.

Beatrice

Beatrice is so thankful for the blessing of water.

She is in her late 80s and had previously been depending on her immediate neighbor for water. She never thought she would have water at her doorstep.

She will live to praise God for His kind gesture!

Margaret

Margaret is full of joy that her ailing daughter Catherine now has water!

Catherine's 4 children will no longer have to fetch water after school. Now they will have more time to help in house chores an d study.

Rose

Rose in is in early 70s and has been struggling to make ends meet. At her age, she survives on casual labor. She has been fetching water from her neighbors, but today she is overjoyed to have a water hookup at her home!
