Dancing, Praising, Eating, and Paradise!

Hotel Paradise was our first stop. The "hotel" is actually a restaurant/café in downtown Nyeri. The café belongs to LCI-Life Change Empowerment, Charles Mbugua CEO. The café is one of several businesses started to ensure sustainable ministry by LEFTI and LCI. We all enjoyed a morning snack. We headed off to visit three churches constructed through a partnership with LCI, LEFTI, and Teleios partners Bill and Debbie Kenny.

Laburra Baptist Church was just completed—James, the pastor, and Ruth, the pastor's wife, greeted us with the church's leadership. The highlight of the visit was when they presented gifts to the Teleios team. Beautiful wraps for the men and women—then, we all danced for joy and celebration. We danced for a long time. So much joy and thankfulness. As expected they served us refreshments. Great time.

The next stop was First Love Baptist Church, Kiambogo, up the mountain from Bellevue Baptist Church, its mother church. First Love is pastored by Patrick and his wife, Theresa. We had a great time there sharing. As all stops, they did a great job of hosting us with chai, coffee cakes, and fruit.

We stopped by an Orphan and Vulnerable Children's (OVC) Family Farm plot - an empowering farm. Families learn to farm and better farming techniques. It teaches them how to move from small gardens to larger farm areas. Provides seed, food, and training as families move to a sustainable life. Awesome empowerment process moving families from survival struggle to a sustainable life. This is the brainchild of OVC leader Robert Muteithia.

Our final stop of the day was Bellevue Baptist Church, where Stephen is the pastor and Ann, his wife. This was the first church that Bill and Debbie worshipped in while in Keny back in 2015. This was a special day as they saw the plaque commemorating their laying of the cornerstone of the new sanctuary.

We had a great day together celebrating all that God is doing through His people in the Kieni West area. A huge thank you to Teleios Ministry partners for making these God-given visions become a reality!
