The Team from Chester Arrives in Iringa

Floyd and the team from First Baptist Church in Chester, SC - Kristi, Janice, Doug, and Clay (the church's pastor) - arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania yesterday.

Floyd reports that there were great attitudes all around in the air, and everyone is looking forward to all that God has prepared for the team as they serve with Neema and Mpeli Mwaisumbe and the Daily Bread Life Children's Home.

Early this morning an incredible storm with tropical-force winds hit Dar es Salaam, shaking the hotel and creating some concern for our 7 a.m. flight to Iringa. In a tropical downpour, we went to the domestic airport.

When we asked if the flight was going, the agent smiled and said, "It's not a problem." He was right - what's a little lightning and heavy rain?

We left at 7:30 a.m. and made one stop landing on a sand and rock runway. We landed in Iringa around 9:30 a.m. and the sun was shining!

The Chester team was greeted by the most beautiful sound - the DBLCH children and staff singing welcome! The Chester team greeted the children and enjoyed being with the children.
