Partnerships in Tanzania

Look among the nations and watch - Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told of you.

- Habakkuk 1:5

In April 2004, Floyd and Bonnie met Mpeli and Neema Mwaisumbe in Iringa, Tanzania, at a leadership and evangelism conference. Mpeli and Floyd went to the Kidete village for an evangelistic event. There were children everywhere. When we returned to our conference in Iringa, Floyd asked Mpeli, "What is your vision?" Mpeli said, "No one was ever asked me that question."

Mpeli shared vision for the people of Kidete. The vision grew from a nursery/primary school for the children of Kidete to mattresses to Daily Bread Life Children's Home, Bread of Life Secondary School, and pastoral training, leadership conferences, women's conferences, church planting in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania.

Mpeli and Neema's vision is that one day the operational costs of these will be fully funded by Tanzanian businesses and individuals. To this end, businesses have been started to make the whole dream a reality. Also, youth unemployment is a critical issue. What happens to the orphans once they graduate from college or technical school? The answer was to start businesses based on their business calling. The dream is for the total transformation of the orphans, the staff, and the students in Jesus Christ meeting everyday needs, preparing each one for their calling, and helping them to pursue God's call upon their life.

ACTS Fellowship Tanzania

Acts Fellowship of Tanzania (AFT) was founded over 15 years ago by Mpeli and Neema Mwaisumbe in partnership with Acts Fellowship, Greenville, South Carolina.

AFT began as a single church plant to reach a local university community and has now grown to include Cornerstone Bible Institute and 17 churches/church plants in 13 different cities/villages. Cornerstone Bible Institute was formed to train church leaders for emerging church plant opportunities and provide a solid foundational for the churches as they developed.

As those called to be servant leaders in the churches share the Gospel preaching points and Bible groups become the basis for new churches led by CBI students and graduates.
