Partnerships in Kenya

Robert was born in Nyeri District of Kenya where he came to the Lord and was baptized when he was 13 years old. He attended Tambaya Secondary School, then graduated from both Kenya Baptist Theological Conference (Church Music) and RICCATTI Business College (Community Development).

Floyd and Bonnie first met Robert through a partnership Teleios had with Koinonia Baptist Church in Ruwaka, Kenya. Robert served as a translator for children's Bible Camps for Teleios team members and a counselor for the camps. At that time Robert was a single young man.

In 2006, Robert met Lucy at Thangathia Baptist Church in their home area. They were married in 2012. Today they are parents of 11-year-old son, Floyd.

Robert and Lucy share a desire to serve the Lord and to be active in sharing God's love as they live out who God created and called them to be.

Robert currently serves as the Managing Director for Life Empowerment For Transformation International. LEFTI aids widows, orphans and vulnerable children. He is passionate about serving the less fortunate in the community through assisting them in becoming self-sufficient. Through farming chickens, goats and kitchen gardens this is being accomplished in the lives of those in Nyeri County and the bordering edge of Laikipia County.

Charles and Grace first met Floyd and Bonnie in 1994 before the vision of Teleios Ministry ever came about. While on a teaching mission trip in Kenya, Bernard Kabaru Mwangi took them by a hospital to visit Grace and Charles as she had just given birth to their second child.

At that time, they were leaders in a youth program which would later expand to include ministry to the entire family as a way of creating stability in the lives of young people. Both were also working at the Kenya Baptist Theological College.

Years passed. God led the Mbuguas away from the seminary down new paths: Charles as CEO of a business and Grace working with an organization that helped women who were HIV positive to adapt their lives to the reality of that diagnosis.

All the while, He was at work shaping visions for each of them. When revealed the visions would lead to partnering with Teleios Ministry and a move from Limuru (near Nairobi) to Mweiga in Nyeri County.

Bernard was born and grew up in the Kiang’ondu Village of rural Nyeri County in Kenya. He received an Associate of Arts degree in 1990, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and a minor in psychology in 1991 from Williams Baptist College in Arkansas. He went on to earn a Master of Divinity from the International Leadership University in Kenya in 1996, and has attended doctoral seminars at the Morling College in Sydney, Australia (2002) and Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, KY (2010). He served as Principal of the Kenyan Baptist Theological College before becoming a partner in Teleios.

God has used Bernard to plant two churches in the outskirts of Nairobi: Banana Hill and Koinonia (Ruaka). He is the founder and leads Life Empowerment for Transformation International (LEFTI) and is a partner in Life Change Investments (LCI). Mary founded and leads Happy Day Academy, a nursery through primary school.

They were married in 1991, have two daughters, Shirley (1993) married to Timothy and Carol (1996), and are proud grandparents.

Amy and Boniface met on the mission field each being obedient to the call of God to serve in His name. Over time, they fell in love and were married in 2023.

Boniface has years of experience in community ministry and currently serves as an associate pastor. Amy has worked with a nonprofit helping children rescued from trafficking as well as serving in church ministry roles. Together, they have been shaped by these experiences and are committed to seeing lives transformed for the glory of God.

Their individual backgrounds reflect a shared heart for ministry, and they are passionate about serving people, each uniquely made in the image of Christ.
